Hidden gem in Rawai skip the normal massage and do this instead. Went here to escape the heat and muscle soreness, and it totally blew away expectations. The day pass is very reasonably priced and includes towels, and the women's changing rooms are spotless, super nice, and fully equipped with lockers and everything you could possibly need. The setup features a legit wood-fired banya, ice plunges, a hammam, and an onsen. Doing the hot-to-cold contrast therapy (banya straight into the ice bath) is brutal in the best way possible, and having free fresh fruit included is a amazing touch. You walk out feeling like a completely new person. The staff are exceptionally warm and friendly, and the food at the cafe afterward is surprisingly great. If you want a real reset day in Phuket, this is it.

One of the best spa experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve been to luxury spas at some of the world’s most expensive hotels, and honestly, this experience was even better. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely relaxed. The Russian sauna ritual was absolutely incredible something I’d never experienced before, and I loved every second of it. The floating sound healing session was truly unforgettable. Floating in the water while surrounded by soothing sounds made me feel spiritually cleansed, deeply relaxed, and full of positive energy. It was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. To finish, they served a delicious Chinese tea, which was the perfect ending to such a beautiful journey. This was genuinely one of the best experiences of my life, and I can’t recommend it enough. The spa has a Russian concept, but the staff speak English, making everything very easy and welcoming. Our concept
ZIMA Spa & Wellness is a wood-fired Russian banya and spa complex in Rawai, at the southern end of Phuket.
We built ZIMA first and foremost as a real banya — not another spa with a sauna attached. At its core are wood-fired stoves, a Russian steam room, proper steam, venik brooms and professional steammasters.
Group parenie sessions run in the steam room on a set schedule: at 10:00 and 11:00, then every hour from 16:00 to 22:00. For the full banya experience there are private parenie sessions with a steammaster and venik brooms. The intensity is tailored to each guest — from a gentle first acquaintance with Russian banya to a deep warm-up for experienced bathers.
ZIMA is more than a banya. We brought together different ways to warm up, cool down and recover in one space: Russian banya, hammam, a hot Japanese onsen, an ice plunge and a pool. After the steam you can book a massage or a spa treatment, rest, sip herbal tea or eat at the restaurant.
A visit is built on contrasts: warmth and steam first, then cold, then rest — and a new cycle. There is no need to rush and no need to compete with the temperature. For us a good banya is not an endurance test but a state in which you genuinely feel good.
Everyone visits ZIMA in their own way. Some come alone for a few hours to switch off from work and their phone. Others come as a couple or with friends. On Wednesdays and Sundays we host family days, when you can visit with children.
You don't need to know anything in advance for your first Russian banya: our steammasters will show you how to steam properly, when to rest and how to combine the steam room, cold water and the other zones of the complex.
